With the 2025 NFL Draft finally over, the weaker teams from last season can now focus on roster management and development for the upcoming season, as they secured the best possible picks from the draft. Meanwhile, teams with already strong lineups are looking ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft.
This year’s draft was hosted at the historic Lambeau Field and the nearby Titletown District in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Now, it’s time for a new city to host one of the most anticipated events in professional football, and that new city has already been confirmed.

The NFL Draft Heads to a New City in 2026: Here’s Where
Everyone knows that the 2026 NFL Draft will be more than just a football spectacle because next year it is expected to see more competition than this year. The event that will shape many teams’ futures in the coming year is set to take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from April 23 to April 25.
With Pittsburgh now on the clock, the event marks the third time the Steel City will host the draft, with previous events held there in 1948 and 1949.

With last year’s NFL Draft, Detroit saw over 775,000 visitors and a $160 million boost to its economy in 2024, while Green Bay’s numbers for this year have not been published yet. Pittsburgh, like Detroit, is gearing up for a similar, or maybe even bigger, turnout by hosting the event in their city.
The decision to bring the draft to Pittsburgh followed a successful bid from the Steelers, working with Allegheny County and the City of Pittsburgh.
The heart of the 2026 NFL Draft will be located in Pittsburgh’s vibrant North Shore, featuring iconic sites like Acrisure Stadium, home to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the scenic Point State Park. These spots, situated at the meeting point of three rivers, will undoubtedly provide a beautiful setting for the event.
You might wonder why the NFL chooses different cities to host the draft each year. This tradition has only recently started. Before 2015, the NFL Draft was held in New York from 1965-2014. Chicago was the second city to host the draft that year, and since then, seven other cities, including Green Bay, have hosted the event.

This rotating practice is a good way for every city to experience this monumental event close to home. After all, New York isn’t the only place that should get all the attention, right? While the excitement of the draft is real, it will be interesting to see if Pittsburgh can bring even more excitement than what we’ve seen this year. We can’t wait to find out.
