Before San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy made a name for himself at the NFL level, he more than left his mark in college football. Where he went to college and how he got there are a story in their own regard.
Where Did Brock Purdy Go to College?
For four seasons, Purdy attended Iowa State University and played football for the Cyclones football team. Purdy set 34 different Iowa State school records in what could be described as one of the greatest individual college careers in Big 12 history.
Among those records, Purdy set single-game, single-season, and individual career marks that may never be touched in Ames.

Purdy’s best season came as a sophomore in 2019. He threw for 27 touchdowns and 3,982 passing yards, each of which were career-best figures. He displayed a unique dual-threat ability by rushing for 19 touchdowns in four seasons, another record.
In fact, Purdy was so good during seemingly every game that his 14 career 300-yard passing games are almost tripled the next closest quarterback in Iowa State history.
Purdy chose to attend Iowa State after winning the Arizona Gatorade Football Player of the Year and the Arizona Republic’s High School Football Player of the Year award during his time at Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona.
He earned three-star status as a high school recruit as he was still relatively new to the sport and the position on a contact basis. Purdy played flag football as a quarterback until 12 years old and played three years of varsity football in high school.
Success has followed him at every level, especially at Iowa State, but the writing was on the wall for Purdy to be a star.
