Cam Coleman and the Auburn Tigers have a simple mission tonight: Prevent their in-state rivals, the Alabama Crimson Tide, from qualifying for the SEC championship game against the Georgia Bulldogs. Nothing is really at play for the Tigers in this Iron Bowl edition, besides their pride.

Coleman, the Tigers’ leading receiver, is certainly a key for Auburn to achieve the upset over the No. 9 team in the nation. So it’s understandable that the image of the wide receiver limping earlier in the first half of the encounter was enough to sow terror in the hearts of the Tigers faithful.

At one point in the first half, Cam Coleman could be seen limping off the field, which led to some speculation as to whether the player would be able to return to the game and if he had suffered a serious injury or not. Ultimately, he returned to the field early in the second quarter.

What happened to Cam Coleman?
It’s unknown what exactly afflicted Auburn’s leading wide receiver, as he was just seen limping off the field. According to ESPN’s Holly Rowe, who is running sideline reporting for the game’s broadcast today, the Tigers’ staff put Coleman through a couple of tests before sending him back onto the field.
According to the sideline reporter, the player hasn’t looked the same since returning to the field and has run his routes at a noticeably slower speed.
Cam Coleman has 682 receiving yards, with five touchdowns in 52 catches so far this season. He has three fewer catches than Auburn’s second-most-productive receiver, Eric Singleton Jr., yet has some 180 yards more than him. While his total receiving yardage is a career best for the sophomore, he is three touchdown receptions short of matching his eight touchdowns from 2024.
For his efforts last year, he was an SEC All-Freshman selection.
