Will Howard just joined the Pittsburgh Steelers, as the NFL side selected the Ohio State player in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft.
Meanwhile, the former college football player turned pro has already impressed everyone on the team soon after being drafted. The player is turning heads due to his work ethic, and just a day after joining the team, he reached out to the quarterback coach for work.

Will Howard’s mother, Maureen, while speaking with Devin Jackson of The Inquirer, revealed how her son wanted to be on the field so badly soon after being drafted. As per Jackson, “On Sunday, Howard reached out to Steelers quarterbacks coach Tom Arth for plays, according to his mother, much to the delight of the Steelers coaching staff.”

Howard’s mother further told Jackson, “[Arth] wrote [Howard] back and said, ‘Hey, we were going to give you the weekend off, but this is why we drafted you because it’s the kind of worker you are.” It seems like the player is already giving high hopes following his work ethic.
Howard previously played for Ohio State. The 6’4″ quarterback hailing from Downingtown, Pennsylvania, also attended Kansas State. In 2024, he started all 16 games at Ohio and helped the program to a school-record 14-win season.
He also helped the team to the CFP National Championship. The quarterback completed 71.4 percent of his passes (325-455), a record for Ohio State’s single-season and career completion percentage. For Kansas State, he appeared in 34 games and started 28 of them. He led the Wildcats to win the Big 12 trophy in 2022.
Overall, Howard has played in 55 games in his college career with Ohio State and Kansas State and has started 44 of them. Howard, in his college career overall, has recorded 9,994 passing yards and 85 touchdowns.
In addition to these impressive stats, he has registered 1,147 rushing yards. He also has 26 scores for 11,141 yards of total offense and 111 touchdowns to his name. Howard played at Kansas State for four years before entering his name in the transfer portal in December 2023 and moving to Ohio State in January 2024.
