WATCH: Ryan Williams vs Insider Appearance Turns EA Sports College Football 26 Gameplay Reveal into Must-See Matchup

EA Sports College Football 26 is coming in with plenty of hype ahead of its July 10 release date. To get fans even more excited, EA SPORTS College has revealed the new gameplay mechanics, and they pitted cover athlete Ryan Williams of the Alabama Crimson Tide against professional streamer and content creator Bordeaux, who was repping Tennessee for that matchup.

Williams was joined by teammate Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. and Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer. The game’s design director Scott O’Gallagher was also present in the video to explain the various new mechanics that the game has to offer,

Right off the bat, Ryan Williams played very aggressively. However, he got “baited” by Bordeaux in the end zone and stealing the possession. Kirkpatrick then took over for the Alabama side for the defensive plays, and this was where Scott O’Gallagher presented the Dynamic Substitution mechanic, which were described as “on the fly subs” where gamers can substitute the players they have on the field as quickly as possible.

The gameplay reveal video also showed the new Heisman abilities, as well as the new player celebrations. The game has also revamped quarterbacks, with a new QB vision mechanic that puts into consideration a quarterback’s height and weight in the angle and distance of their throws.

Williams and Kirkpatrick defeated their content creator opponent, and in the next game, they went on the road to take on Florida State, with the game showing off the various quirks of each home stadium. They also delved into other additions, such as “Gap Integrity Improvements,” “Coach Adjustments,” “Wear & Tear Improvements,” and “Defensive Control Upgrades.”

In the end of the video, the “Bama Boys” won that showdown against Florida State, with Williams proudly standing tall and showing that he is also a very good gamer himself.

EA Sports College Football 26 Will Introduce New “Road To Glory” Mode

In addition, EA Sports College Football 26 will also boast other features, such as the “Road To Glory,” which is designed to address several concerns that players had from College Football 25.

“But in listening to our players, a few clear themes emerged. First, players wanted a more meaningful recruiting experience—more agency in deciding where they go to school, and more control over the moments that lead there. Second, while Coach Trust was a strong foundation for getting on the field, players wanted more tension, more rewards, and more to chase once they earned the starting job. And third, players wanted a better way to track their achievements and celebrate everything they’d earned across their career,” said game producer Chad Walker, as per Bleacher report.

This “Road to Glory” mode gives players a chance to control a football player and play him at the beginning of his career until the end. They can be an elite five-star prospect or a two-star one as they work their way to become probably Heisman winners.
