Deion Sanders and Warren Sapp are revitalizing Colorado football into a more meaningful program after the team made its first postseason appearance since 2020. The Buffaloes are on the path to a major revamp after top talents Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter departed for the NFL.
Coach Prime now has more liberty because he is not under the pressure of playing dual roles as both a father and a coach on the gridiron. Reiterating the point, Hall of Fame Warren Sapp said Sanders is strengthening the program’s core.

Discipline Comes First for Legendary Coach Deion Sanders
After a 9-4 season, Coach Prime and his team are expecting nothing less than a College Football Playoff berth and potentially a national championship in 2025. He has been recruiting Hall of Fame coaches from across the country.
Besides recruiting top talent from high schools and hitting the transfer portal like never before, Prime has focused on instilling discipline among his players. Everyone follows the rules set in Colorado.
Warren Sapp, who appeared on the Rich Eisen Show this week, said discipline is at the core of the team and that Sanders has been running the train.

“I’m so addicted to it because of their eagerness to learn and do right. His instincts of the game, his attention to detail. He is driving the train”

“I’m so addicted to it, Rich,” Sapp said. “It’s ridiculous. The young men’s eagerness to learn and do right is addictive. You know, that’s our call in the room: do right. Do right by your teammates. Do right by your coach. Do right by everything going on, and everything you want will come to you.”
When asked how management deals with players who don’t follow the rules, Sapp said Coach Prime knows how to discipline them.
“Oh no, we got it. We got an extra door. No problem playing. You know, Prime doesn’t play games. You know, the boss—what we call the Black Nick Saban—with his instincts for the game and attention to detail, don’t let his confidence—or self-confidence—ruin your self-esteem or what you think about yourself, because, trust me, you didn’t make him and you aren’t going to break him. And the way we’re doing it is, I mean, it’s in your face.
“It’s in your face, like the dance we are and the man we want to raise—that’s what he’s doing. That’s what he’s engineering, and we are all on board with it. I mean, he’s driving the ship. I mean, he is driving the train,” he added.
