Vanderbilt’s quarterback future just took a dramatic leap forward, and the fanbase wasted no time celebrating the moment. With Diego Pavia heading toward the end of his remarkable collegiate career, the Commodores have landed the most important piece of their long-term plan.
Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis has committed to Vanderbilt, flipping from Georgia in one of the biggest recruiting shocks of the year. Curtis had been tied to Georgia for months, even after briefly backing off his pledge last year.
The pull of staying home in Nashville, playing early, and leading a rising SEC program pushed him toward Vanderbilt. He becomes the highest-rated commit in school history and the clear successor to Pavia.
Vanderbilt fans erupted across social platforms, firing off jokes, celebrations, and plenty of Georgia-directed banter. Many framed it as another win for Clark Lea, who has turned the Commodores from a quiet SEC presence into a growing disruptor.

“What a time to be alive. To see a 5-star flip from GEORGIA to Vanderbilt,” a fan wrote.
“Everyone thinks this is a big up to Vandy but it’s cause the roster depth so bad he’ll start year 1 there and year 3 at UGA lol,” a fan wrote.
“Woah, didn’t see this coming,” a fan wrote.
“It only took a load of money and a handful on recruiting violations,” a fan wrote.
“What’s he gonna do when Grampa Pavia petitions for four more years of eligibility that takes him into his 30s,” a fan wrote.
With this move, the mood around the program has quickly shifted from hopeful to confident.

Diego Pavia Heisman Odds
Pavia remains in the center of the national conversation as he wraps up his final stretch at Vanderbilt. His production this season is elite with 3,192 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, 8 interceptions, and an 87.8 QBR, which ranks fourth in the country.
He continues to anchor one of the most improved teams in college football and sits squarely in the Heisman race. Oddsmakers still list him behind two major contenders, but he’s firmly in the top three.
Pavia is currently behind Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who is the betting favorite as of now with +115. Mendoza is followed by Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin (+140) and Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia (+300).
To stay alive in the race, he’ll need a clean finish and at least one standout performance that separates him from the other finalists.
