The SEC will once again schedule eight conference games for each team in 2025, quieting rumors of a nine-game format for at least another season. Alongside the reports of the league’s schedule maintaining the status quo, Vanderbilt’s 2025 conference schedule dropped. What can Commodores fans expect?
List 2025 Vanderbilt Commodores Opponents
Outside of two James Franklin seasons (2013-2014), the Commodores have been bottom-dwellers in the SEC. Clark Lea enters Year 4 with a paltry 9-27 record. After going 2-10 in his first year as head coach, Vanderbilt showed life with a 5-7 campaign in 2022. Yet, they receded to another 2-10 season, putting pressure on Lea and Co. to right the ship … quickly.
As Vanderbilt begins preparations for the 2024 season, here’s who they’ll face in 2025:

The Commodores face the same opponents in 2024, and it’s tough to see a single win. Of course, upsets happen every year, so maybe Vandy gets a win or two, especially with New Mexico State transfer Diego Pavia under center. But projecting any more than that is a fruitless endeavor.
The conference was tough enough without Oklahoma and Texas in the fray, and the Commodores just so happened to draw the better of those two programs for the next two seasons. Acquiring and retaining talents will always be difficult for Lea in the SEC, but he needs to strike gold multiple times to become competitive.
