Vanderbilt 2024 Football Schedule: List of Commodores Opponents Ahead of SEC Expansion

Just how tough a road ahead do the Commodores have? The full Vanderbilt 2024 football schedule doesn't appear to be too kind to them.

It’s a new age in the SEC next fall and the Vanderbilt 2024 football schedule shows it. With two new teams joining the fray, will the Commodores play either Texas or Oklahoma in 2024?

Where does Vanderbilt have to travel and who comes to town next fall?

    Vanderbilt 2024 Football Schedule

The road gets a bit tougher for the Commodores inside of their schedule in 2024. Not only do they hardly get any reprieve in their non-conference schedule, but Vanderbilt has some tough road games and equally as difficult home games on their schedule ahead of them.

Norfolk State looks, at least on the surface, like the only winnable game given the current status of the ‘Dores program, and that comes after taking on rising ACC foe Virginia Tech.

SMU is one-half of the two teams that finished with undefeated AAC records in 2023, and Georgia State can score points with the best of the Sun Belt teams. That’s one difficult non-conference schedule.

The non-conference schedule is only made worse by road trips to Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, and Missouri.

Vanderbilt hosts Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee, as well as new conference opponent Texas. Surprisingly, Vanderbilt leads the all-time series with the Longhorns, 8-3-1, but the programs haven’t played each other since 1928 in Dallas. It’s safe to say this game may not end in the same 13-12 result favoring the Commodores in 2024.

For the first time since 1991, the SEC will not feature divisions in the conference. The top two teams will square off at the end of the year in the SEC Championship Game to culminate the season. With Oklahoma and Texas in the conference this season, the 2024 campaign truly means more.
