USC 2024 Football Schedule: Looking at the Trojans Opponents Ahead of Big Ten Expansion

The USC 2024 football schedule looks at which of the new Big Ten foes the Trojans will face and how far they'll have to travel in 2024.

The USC Trojans head to the Big Ten Conference for the 2024 college football season, creating all manners of new exciting matchups offset by a schedule that will see them cross from coast to coast on multiple occasions.

How does the USC 2024 football schedule look, and how many air miles will the team plane earn through their college football campaign?

They might be heading to the Big Ten next year, but the USC 2024 football schedule begins with a clash with another conference undergoing significant change from the 2023 season. The Trojans open the 2024 campaign with a neutral site game against the SEC, facing the LSU Tigers in Allegiant Stadium.

That contest is one of six games away from LA Memorial Coliseum, with their first conference road game coming in mid-late September — a 4,500+ miles round trip to Ann Arbor to face the Michigan Wolverines.

A 4,000 miles there-and-back to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers a fortnight later means the Trojans will travel 9,000 miles in just two weeks.

Remarkably, neither game is the longest journey on the USC 2024 football schedule.

The Trojans take on Penn State in the Coliseum one week after the Minnesota game before taking a 5,300-mile trip to face the Maryland Terrapins. Thankfully, two of their six road games are on the West Coast, with a visit to Washington and their rivalry game with UCLA.

While they have games against the reigning Big Ten champions Michigan, Pac-12 champions Washington, and a strong Penn State side, the USC 2024 football schedule at least avoids the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Yet, their out-of-conference campaign opens with LSU — as mentioned above — and closes out by welcoming the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to Southern California. It’s no cupcake schedule to begin life in the Big Ten, that’s for sure.
