Many fans are excited for some marquee-ranked matchups this week, but one game that is flying under the radar is UCLA vs. Maryland. While neither is ranked, it should be a highly competitive matchup between two teams that have shown promise this season. Here is everything you need to know as the UCLA Bruins host the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday night.

UCLA vs. Maryland: Key Players to Watch
This is a game between two teams on opposite trajectories. Maryland started the season strong, winning its first four games. However, it has dropped its past two games, including a close 34-31 loss to No. 25-ranked Nebraska last week. Conversely, UCLA started the season slowly, losing its first four games before winning its last two, including a 42-37 upset over the then No. 7-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions.
This is a game where quarterback play could play a huge role in the outcome. Malik Washington has been great for Maryland, completing 137 of 220 passing attempts for 1506 yards and 10 TDs, while only throwing two interceptions.
Nico Iamaleava has started to come into his own after his transfer from Tennessee. He has completed 114 of 172 passing attempts for 1134 yards and nine TDs this season. He has three interceptions, but all three came in the first three games of the year.

UCLA vs. Maryland Predictions
Heading into this game, there is a lot of hype around the UCLA Bruins. They defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions two weeks ago, starting them on a path that led to them firing head coach James Franklin. They then followed it up with a convincing win over Michigan State on Saturday.
“I hope I leave Penn State better than I found it.”

Conversely, Maryland has lost its past two matchups. Despite that, we are picking the Terrapins to come out on top. The team still has a strong 4-2 record, and its two losses were by less than five points. Last week, they showed they could compete with a ranked opponent, only losing 34-31 to No. 25-ranked Nebraska. As a result, we think the Terrapins are going to get back on track on Saturday against UCLA.
