While the transfer portal has not officially opened yet, several players have announced that they will be leaving their current schools and entering the transfer portal. Among the teams seeing an exodus is UCLA, which just hired new head coach Bob Chesney, who might be changing things up over there.

Players Leaving UCLA
Jadyn Marshall – Wide Receiver
A red-shirt senior, Marshall is listed as a wide receiver but has since transitioned into a defensive back. He only has one year of eligibility remaining and there is still no word on where he might go.
Ben Perry – Defensive Back
Another player who only has one year of eligibility remaining. He used to be a starter at Louisville and was a monster with 56 tackles. While he was an important piece over at Louisville, he did not do much at UCLA and will now be transferring.
Scooter Jackson – Defensive Back
Perhaps the most impactful of the players leaving UCLA’ Jackson is considered a top playmaker who had shined much with the Bruins. With only one season of eligibility remaining, he could be a big loss for new head coach Bob Chesney, especially after Jackson tallied 44 tackles, three pass breakups, two interceptions and a forced fumble during his sole season with UCLA.
Andre Jordan Jr. – Defensive Back
A fourth defensive back is leaving UCLA, though Andre Jordan Jr. did start the last eight games of the season as a cornerback, and he did improve at that position.
He was named as an All-Big Ten honorable mention and has tied for the most pass breakups for the conference, which is big. He also made 10 tackles and his decision to leave after much success with the Bruins made many scratching their heads.
Cole Martin – Defensive Back
Yes folks, another defensive back is leaving UCLA, and Cole Martin had been solid for the Bruins with 65 tackles, three pass breakups and one interception. He is the son of UCLA secondary coach Demetrice Martin and his decision to leave surprised many, especially as he still has two years of eligibility remaining.
LaRue Zamorano III – Defensive Back
There must really be something going on at UCLA’s defensive back room for all these defensive backs to be leaving. Zamorano is a red-shirt freshman who has not done much during his time with the Bruins, so him leaving is not that surprising. What is surprising is all these defensive backs leaving as a new coach arrives.
Players Joining UCLA
None yet, as the transfer portal will officially open on Jan. 2.
