Already running thin on offensive line, head coach Brian Kelly’s LSU Tigers suffered a major blow with starting left tackle Tyree Adams exiting the game against the Vanderbilt Commodores due to injury.
In the first quarter of the game against Vanderbilt, Adams suffered a hit and was limping. He was helped off the field by the LSU staff. Ory Williams has reportedly replaced him with uncertainty whether the left tackle will return to the game. Reporter Michael Cauble wrote on X:
“Tyree Adams down on the field, limping on right knee it looks like. Ory Williams gets the go now, not great for a LSU team that’s been shaky there already.”

With Adams exiting the game, the Tigers offensive line will be tested. They have Paul Mubenga at left guard, DJ Chester at center, Bo Bordelon at right guard, and Weston Davis at right tackle in the offensive line against Vanderbilt.

Brian Kelly Backs Weston Davis in LSU’s OL
Despite notable struggles at right tackle this season, Brian Kelly continues to see the massive upside in redshirt freshman Weston Davis. The right tackle suffered a pregame injury in Week 5 needing him to enter concussion protocols before returning for the South Carolina game last week.
After last week’s win, where Davis struggled in the run game, Kelly defended him on Monday.
“We’re willing to live with some mistakes out at right tackle, because we think his future’s so bright…” Kelly said. “So when you go into that process of thinking about it, do you thwart his growth of what he needs to see every day? He was really good against (Dylan Stewart) in pass protection, really good. That guy is outstanding. He’s as good as I’ve seen.
“We’ve got to get him better in the run game, and that’s where at times you want to put Josh [Thompson] out there, but we’re gonna live with him. And I’m proud of him. He’s growing. He’s learning this game.”
With Tyree Adams injured, Brian Kelly is loosing depth in a department which hasn’t looked formidable this season.
