From playing football at backyard to performing under the bright lights of Beaver Stadium, Tyler Warren’s journey to the higher ranks have been nothing short of an inspiring tale. Known for his unmatched focus and powerful plays, the Penn State tight end is not just writing his own story, he is adding a new chapter to his family tradition of athletic excellence.
But who are the strongest pillars behind Tyler’s foundation of success? Meet the parents of Tyler Warren who have inspired and played arguably the biggest role behind his success.

A Family Legacy Deeply Rooted in College Football
Warren, Penn State’s right end, attended Atlee High School. There, he was a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball, baseball, and football. In his junior year, he threw for 876 yards and had nine touchdowns while rushing for 554 yards and seven touchdowns. While he initially played for Virginia Tech, Tyler later chose to play for Penn State.
His seasonal 34 receptions for 422 yards and seven touchdowns tied him for third among Penn State tight ends if we are considering single-season touchdown receptions.
Such stats are expected when you know that Tyler is the son of Sandy and Terry Warren. Terry Warren played football at Richmond from 1987 to 1990. While Warren Sr. now works as the Senior Vice President of AblePay Health, you can bet that the early influence of college football has helped build up the foundation that set Tyler for success.
Terry was already exposed to the grind that is needed to make it to the highest of stages. Therefore, you can bank on it that Warren Sr. schooled young Tyler the importance of grit and discipline at an early age. Safe to say, Tyler picked the torch from his father and ran with it (quite literally).
Tyler’s mother, Sandy Warren, is a real MVP behind the scenes. She attended the University of Richmond where she met Terry Warren. Just like every athlete’s mother having a strong influence in their career, with Sandy it was no different.
Regarding the siblings, Tyler has one brother named TJ and a sister named Kelly. During 2018-22, Tyler’s sister, Kelly, played softball at East Tennessee State, as per the official website of Penn State.
