In this year’s NFL Draft, the Louisville football program had a solid presence. Three players from Jeff Brohm’s squad heard their names called during the three-day draft session. Among the trio, the player who stood out most in the community was Tyler Shough, the New Orleans Saints’ second-round pick.
The 7,800-yard quarterback’s latest confession on social media shows that he feels immense gratitude for New Orleans, as they picked him to help advance his NFL career. Now, he’s made a commitment that might sound like madness, but he did say he would “die on that field.”

Tyler Shough’s Heartfelt Message: New Orleans Will Get Everything from Him
Tyler Shough, the 25-year-old former Cardinals quarterback, is excited about being picked 40th overall in the NFL Draft. His commitment to football isn’t just a passing feeling—it’s the result of a challenging college football journey that was far from easy.
God’s timing. If it was easy, everyone would do it. New Orleans you will get everything out of me. ⚜️ WHO DAT pic.twitter.com/Vj1vgCUlLf

Over his college career, Shough played for three different schools: Oregon, Texas Tech, and Louisville. Along the way, he faced several injuries, including two broken collarbones and a broken fibula. Despite these setbacks, he kept pushing and showcased his talent, especially in his final season at Louisville.
Tyler Shough didn’t let those injuries stand in the way of his NFL dreams. Throughout college, he threw for 7,820 yards and recorded 59 touchdowns. In his last season alone, he threw 23 touchdowns and had six interceptions while completing 62.7% of his passes.
This impressive resume helped him get picked in the second round of the draft, although many had projected him as a first-round pick.
That didn’t shake his confidence—he’s simply grateful for the opportunity the Saints gave him. The Louisville standout made sure to let the world know how thankful he is.
His excitement was clear when the former Oregon QB posted on Twitter on April 28, saying, “God’s timing. If it were easy, everyone would do it. New Orleans, you will get everything out of me. ⚜️ WHO DAT.”
