Trinidad Chambliss is enjoying a breakout 2025 college football season with the Ole Miss Rebels, and the star quarterback has been one of the primary reasons the program is set to compete in a Sugar Bowl quarterfinal matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Over 13 games this season, Chambliss has delivered impressive performances, throwing for 3,298 yards with 19 touchdowns and just three interceptions while posting a passer rating of 158.8.

While his on-field performances have drawn a lot of attention, much of his success can be attributed to his parents providing a strong foundation.

Who Are Trinidad Chambliss’ Parents?
Trinidad Chambliss’ parents are Trent and Cheryl Chambliss. His father, Trent, is an assistant principal at Wyoming High School and currently serves as an administrator within the Wyoming Public Schools. He previously coached football at Forest Hills Northern, Trinidad’s alma mater, and moved to Grand Rapids from South Bend, Indiana, to play football at Grand Rapids Community College.
Trent has also shared that part of the inspiration behind his son’s name came from watching Puerto Rican boxing star Félix Trinidad, whose success prompted Trent to name his son after the boxer.
“I kind of thought, ‘Man, this name Trinidad, boy, that sounds like a good name,” Trent stated in an interview.
“And then we ended up having the correlation of The Holy Trinity and the religious and spiritual connection, which made it even better,” he further elaborated.
Cheryl Chambliss, Trinidad’s mother, spent nearly 30 years working as a juvenile probation officer and now substitute teaches in retirement. Originally from New Jersey, she largely grew up in Grand Rapids.
Trent and Cheryl met while preparing for a Basketball Tournament, which eventually led them to connect through mutual friends. They also have an older son named Tyler.
Where Is Trinidad Chambliss From?
Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Trinidad Chambliss attended Forest Hills Northern High School in Grand Rapids, which competes in Michigan’s Division 2 district.
During his final high school season, Chambliss threw for 1,610 yards and 17 touchdowns. In addition to football, Chambliss also played basketball and baseball growing up and helped lead the Forest Hills Northern basketball team to the state semifinals as a senior.
