Gun violence is on the rise in America and the latest victim of a school shooting was Charlie Kirk, who died at the age of 31. After the death of Kirk, who was a Conservative activist, several celebrities have come out to pay tribute, including Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s wife Marissa.
Kirk took a single shot bullet in the neck, resulting in his death. As per the latest news, the perpetrator used an elevation and shot from the top of a roof of a nearby building when Kirk was debating with students at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah, on Sept. 10.
Marissa took to Instagram, reposting a tweet from Kirk, which said, “Jesus is the answer.” After authorities claimed that Kirk’s killing might have to do with a political agenda, Marissa said politics needs to be put aside while mourning the host of “Turning Point USA.”
“Politic aside a human life was taken today,” Marissa wrote. “That should only be mourned no matter who you vote for. Our country has too much division and hate- I pray this can be something we can be united in and in prayer in together for peace in our country and empathy for a human life.. he was a father and a husband.. this is not something to celebrate.”

Trevor Lawrence’s wife Marissa hits back at user taking a jibe for her selective mourning
Hours after Marissa shared the above message on her Instagram story, a user took it out on the quarterback’s wife for not mourning in previous such shooting incidents and when democratic leaders were shot and killed in their own home.
Marissa took issue with the comment, saying all lives are equal and that each of this shootings has left her heartbroken.
“I do want to be so so clear,” she wrote. “My heart is broken for all the lives lost due to shootings. My speaking out is not a matter of what is more of a tragedy and whose life being lost is worth more to share about. Every single one is horrid and evil.”
She mentioned that what made her to post about this particular death was because there are some out there who are celebrating Kirk’s death because they have a difference in opinion. She doesn’t endorse that kind of hate and that’s why she decided to take a stand against it.
“The DIFFERENCE is and what provoked me to “now speak out” is no one is celebrating the mass school schooling’s and people being murdered,” Marissa added. “For those who still can respond to my stories and say he deserved this please unfollow me I want no part of this hate and will continue to stand in prayer for our country and for ALL the families that lost a loved one and whose hearts are broken today.”
While Marissa and several other are praying for Kirk, the authorities are continuing their investigation into the fatal shooting.
