Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars won their opening encounter of the season against the Carolina Panthers, 26-10, in what can only be described as a good start to their 2025 campaign.
Lawrence’s performance was nothing to write home about, with 178 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception. But, running back Trevor Etienne brought the necessary offensive output to lead them down the field with 143 rushing yards.
Trevor’s wife, Marissa Lawrence, was in the building for the start of the season with their daughter, Shae Lynn Lawrence. She posted a series of pictures of her and Shae Lynn at EverBank Stadium, in their Jaguars apparel. In some of the pics, they’re with the franchise’s quarterback. The caption read:

This is the fourth season of the former Clemson player with the Jacksonville Jaguars. During the 2022 campaign, they reached the playoffs with Lawrence as their starting quarterback.
They defeated the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card round but fell to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, in the Divisional round.
Trevor Lawrence’s Reaction to the Week 1 Victory Over the Carolina Panthers
Trevor Lawrence seemed in great spirits shortly after the game ended, with the quarterback speaking with the press and stating this could be a sign of things to come. According to him, being able to perform at this level as a team consistently is the key to a successful year for Jacksonville:
“It feels great the direction we’re heading,” Lawrence said. “You got to take for what it is. We won in Week 1. We’re 1-0 to start the season, and we’re all pumped about that. … No one takes it for granted how hard it is to win in this league, so we’re all really proud of that.
“But it’s one game. We got to keep doing it. Consistency is what will be the difference,” he added.
Understandably, an opening week victory would be a great thing for a team coming from the Jaguars’ 2024 performance, where they finished with a 4-13 record.
Another bit of good news for Jaguars fans is that 2024 Heisman winner Travis Hunter had some positive action both on offense and defense. He had six catches for 33 receiving yards as a receiver and managed to record one tackle as a defensive back.
