The Ole Miss Rebels continue fighting for their postseason lives at this point of the season, and their roster’s health is critical. During their final road game of the year against the Florida Gators, star WR Tre Harris exited the game and returned in street clothes in the second half.
The injury now put the rest of his season in doubt.
What Happened to Tre Harris?
On a third-and-6 from the Florida 16-yard line, Harris was targeted just at the sticks and nearly made an improbable catch. However, he was unable to make the grab and it was clear on the first viewing that he had done something to his lower half.
He landed quite awkwardly and was immediately attended to on the ground.

Called a catch and fumble, it was overturned and Ole Miss would miss the subsequent field goal attempt.
Harris made his impact felt early on in the game, hauling in a 43-yard touchdown reception to give Ole Miss a lead. His exit, however, isn’t anything new to the Rebels at this point as he was injured previously earlier in the year in Week 7 and was said to be dealing with nagging injuries ever since.

With his 43-yard reception against Florida, Harris now has hauled in 60 catches for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns.
The rapport that Harris has with QB Jaxson Dart is beyond reproach. They’ve certainly been known to make each other better, and that was on display early on against Florida. How long he’ll be out is now up for more debate.
How Long is Tre Harris Out?
During his absence earlier in the year, Harris’ injury was listed as a lower-body injury, without too much more specifics. The latest injury clearly was to his lower body and the initial extent was not know.
For the second time this year, Harris has now finished a game he started in street clothes, returning to the Florida game in the second half to the sidelines just like he had to do against LSU earlier.
We’ll continue to monitor the status of Harris and the severity of his injury as there are current rumors that he’ll shut down his season and prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft.
