With the college football schedule and dates being unraveled, fans are starting to point out and look forward to some of the best Week One matchups.
One of the most intriguing games to start the year is the Nebraska Cornhuskers taking on the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium, where the Kansas City Chiefs play. Fans aren’t the only ones looking forward to this game as Nebraska Alumni Will Compton and Cincinnati alumni Travis Kelce are already beefing over this primetime matchup.

Travis Kelce Rides for Cincinnati After Will Compton Trolls Bearcats
Will Compton is a former 10-year NFL veteran who now co-hosts the popular podcast “Bussin’ With the Boys.” When the game between the Bearcats and the Cornhuskers was announced, he put out this post on X, initiating some fun beef with Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
Would hate to beat your team’s ass on your home field in Arrowhead @tkelce @JasonKelce

On the “New Heights Podcast,” which is hosted by both Jason and Travis Kelce, Travis responded to Compton, saying, “It’s on like Donkey Kong” (with some expletives mixed into that sentence).
The game is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at 8 p.m. CDT (9 p.m. EDT) and will be televised on ESPN. This marks just the second all-time meeting between the two schools, and the first since 1906.
Cincinnati and Nebraska are two teams that haven’t been living up to their standards in quite some time, and this will be a massive opening night matchup for both of them.
With the added fuel of this podcast beef between Compton and Kelce, it wouldn’t be surprising if a lot of people tune into this game to see who comes out on top.
I also wouldn’t put it past either program to incorporate both Will and Travis into some pre-game festivities to make this an even more intriguing game for the fans at the stadium and watching at home.

As someone who has no team in this fight, I have now circled this game on my calendar as one that is must-watch on opening weekend. If I had to make a prediction for this game, I would venture to say Matt Rhule and Nebraska will come out on top, but time will tell, and Arrowhead should be rocking.
