Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Travis Kelce is now one of the most recognized football players in the planet, though many non-football fans refer to him as “Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.” In an interview with GQ magazine, the tight end opened up on football, Taylor Swift, his post-retirement plans and more.
They tackled the topic of the previous Super Bowl, where the Chiefs lost to Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles, preventing a three-peat from happening. There, he addressed his seemingly lack of focus the Chiefs had as they took on the Eagles.
“I think it might have slipped a little bit because I did have a little bit more focus in trying to set myself up. And opportunities came up where I was excited to venture into a new world of acting and being an entertainer,” he said.
“I don’t say this as ‘I shouldn’t have done it.’ I’m just saying that my work ethic is such that I have so much pride in how I do things that I never want the product to tail off, and I feel like these past two years haven’t been to my standard,” Travis Kelce added.
With his relationship with music superstar Taylor Swift, the Chiefs tight end had a lot of activities outside of football, and this may have distracted him from the goal of the three-peat. This time, however, he promises to do better this year and win another Super Bowl ring for himself.
“I just have such a motivation to show up this year for my guys,” he said.
The GQ interview also featured new photos of Travis Kelce, as he tried various activities around Florida, including a shoot in the Everglades while holding an alligator.
Taylor Swift Just Announced Her Latest Album During Travis Kelce’s Podcast
Meanwhile, as the NFL preseason continued, Travis Kelce had a very special guest on his podcast, “New Heights,” and it was none other than Taylor Swift herself. The Grammy winner sat next to her boyfriend, and there, she surprised many as she revealed her latest album.
The new album is titled “The Life of a Showgirl,” and Swift revealed that it will be released in October 2025. However, as Swift revealed the new album, it was blurred, which means she may be revealing more in the days ahead.
More details are expected to be revealed when the “New Heights” podcast’s latest episode will be fully released on Wednesday.
