‘This Kid Is Unbelievable’ – Veteran Analyst Ditches Shedeur Sanders for Travis Hunter as Countdown for NFL Combine Begins

Veteran analyst makes huge remarks about Travis Hunter, ditching Shedeur Sanders for the Colorado standout.

Travis Hunter is a generational talent. His draft prospect has been increasing ever since he won the 2024 Heisman. While the quarterbacks are often revered among the top 5 teams every year, this season, it’s a bit different.

Although Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward happen to be on top, Hunter finds himself in the mix of players who could get picked in the top three in the 2025 NFL Draft. Veteran analyst Mel Kiper Jr. recently shared his analysis of the Colorado standout. He made his pick for the team that would pick Hunter over any other quarterback, including Shedeur Sanders.

Mel Kiper Jr. Makes Bold Prediction for Travis Hunter

The 21-year-old Colorado star had a terrific college career under NFL legend Deion Sanders. He played on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and cornerback, excelling equally in both, which made him a hot NFL prospect. Last season, he recorded 1,258 receiving yards for 96 receptions and scored 15 touchdowns.

This propelled him to win the Heisman Trophy and other accolades, such as the Chuck Bednarik and the Biletnikoff awards, for his overall performance.

When it comes to the draft, he has enrolled himself as a corner instead of a wideout. ESPN’s Mel Kiper recently weighed in on Hunter’s draft stock.

He claimed that the Giants should consider passing on a player like Shedeur Sanders for Hunter. He is generational, and prospects like these don’t come often. “Stephen, I think the Giants could take Travis Hunter over Shedeur Sanders,” Kiper said on ESPN’s First Take during Tuesday’s broadcast.

Kiper said, “If you’re picking where you are and you get the best player in the draft, that’s a dog and good. Travis Hunter people say, Well, is he not a great corner? Is he a great receiver? He’s played both; he hasn’t played just one; he hasn’t said okay. Okay, I’m going to put all my energy into the one spot, and you’ll see him playing both ways in college, being as physical as he is and being out there for every snap. This kid is unbelievable.

“He is generational, and he’s going to let it play out to see where he’s best and sprinkle him in at the other spot, so for the Giants that need help with both corner and wide receiver, he would make a lot of sense. Obviously, Matthew Stafford or somebody’s gotta come in at quarterback. If it’s Stafford, whoever it may be, that would allow them to go with another position like a Travis Hunter.”
