The Tennessee Titans hold the coveted first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and speculation is swirling about who they’ll choose. Who Will the Tennessee Titans Selecet With the No. 1 Pick in the NFL Draft?

The conversation gained new traction after Titans President of Football Operations, Chad Brinker, offered a revealing comment to the media:

“We won’t pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL Draft.”

This statement immediately shifted the spotlight to Colorado Buffaloes two-way superstar and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. Following Brinker’s remarks, betting markets reacted quickly, and Hunter’s odds of being selected first overall surged dramatically.

According to ESPN Bet, Hunter is now listed at +150, making him the second favorite behind Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cameron Ward, who remains the frontrunner at -105.

Here are the updated odds for the No. 1 Pick in the 2025 NFL Draft (via ESPN Bet, as of Jan. 23):

    • Cameron Ward: -105
    • Travis Hunter: +150
    • Shedeur Sanders: +350
    • Abdul Carter: +900
    • Tetairoa McMillan: +6000

Hunter, a dynamic two-way player at cornerback and wide receiver, has been hailed as one of the most unique and versatile talents in recent college football history. His elite playmaking ability on both sides of the ball helped him achieve the Heisman trophy.

Many experts view Hunter as a “can’t-miss” prospect with the potential to redefine expectations for NFL players who excel at multiple positions.

When you hear the words “generational prospect,” Hunter is the player at the forefront of the mind.

However, the Titans’ roster has multiple needs, particularly at quarterback, where many expected them to lean toward selecting either Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. But Brinker’s comments suggest the team may prioritize overall talent and upside over positional need.

There are others who speculate that the “generational talent” Brinker is referring to isn’t Travis Hunter but rather Penn State’s Abdul Carter. Carter was a special player for the Penn State Nittany Lions and fits the description of a generational talent.

Carter has also been on the rise, with many analysts placing him as the best overall player in the draft class, making him easily worthy of the first overall pick.

Overall, Hunter’s huge rise in the betting markets reflects growing confidence that he could become one of the non-QBs to go first overall in the draft. If the Titans do indeed view him as a once-in-a-generation talent, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him wear the team’s uniform next season.
