“Travis Hunter Can’t Bail You Out Every Game”: Fans Troll Coach Prime As Colorado Starts Post-Shedeur Era With Disastrous Loss

Welcome to the post-Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter Colorado world! Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes lost their season opener to Georgia Tech 27-20 on Friday. The game was decided late in the fourth quarter when Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King broke away for a 45-yard touchdown, with just 1:07 to play.

After the game, fans online took a dig at the program, which no longer has offensive weapons in 2024 Heisman winner Hunter and 2024 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Sanders.

“It’s tough when Travis Hunter can’t bail you out every game,” one fan said.

Fans continued to demean the program and Coach Prime with their reactions.

“Where’s all the Colorado nut huggers that prematurely glazed earlier…?” one fan asked.

“Buffs are a clown show,” another added.

“People really think Deion is head coach material,” one fan commented.

Several fans took a dig at Deion Sanders on how he used timeouts.

“Greatest misuse of timeouts and clock management in the history of sports,” one fan posted.

“Georgia Tech had 3 turnovers in their first 3 drives. And Colorado only scored once. That really settled tech down. Then the late-game block management seemed really questionable. They had two time-outs,” another said.

“Deon the motherf**kingpeon taking another L as usual…” one fan added.

How Coach Prime’s Colorado lost against Georgia Tech

The Colorado Buffaloes opened their season with a 27-20 loss against Georgia Tech. Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter succeeded Shedeur Sanders as the program’s starting quarterback.

The Buffaloes jumped to an early lead after Salter found DeKalon Taylor for an eight-yard touchdown pass. In the second quarter, the Yellow Jackets exploded with a 32-yard field goal followed by quarterback Haynes King’s four-yard rushing touchdown.

The Buffaloes tied the game 10-10 on Alejandro Mata’s 42-yard field goal. Georgia Tech took a 13-10 lead after they made another field goal.

In the third quarter, the Buffaloes again tied the game 13-13 on a successful field goal. King once again showed his dual-threat ability as he ran for a 17-yard rushing touchdown in the final moments of the third quarter.

Colorado tied the game 20-20 after Salter ran for a 7-yard touchdown. However, King broke loose for a 45-yard rush down, with just over a minute remaining in the game.

It sealed the game for the Yellow Jackets, as Colorado’s campaign met with a worrying start. Their offense seemed lackluster. It remains to be seen if they can do well against Delaware in their next game at Folsom Field.
