Chandler Morris knows a thing or two about winning. The former Oklahoma, TCU and North Texas quarterback brought his championship mentality to Virginia, with just one aim — winning a championship.
Morris, who was a part of a TCU team that made it all the way to the National Championship game in 2022, ultimately losing to the Georgia Bulldogs, wants to help turn around a Virginia team that finished 5-7 in Tony Elliott’s third season as head coach.

Transfer QB Chandler Morris Sets Bold Goal at Virginia: Win a National Championship
Morris joined the ACC Network’s “Inside ACCess” Wednesday to share his aspirations for the team with the world, proclaiming that there should be “no surprise” in the locker room if everyone is on the same page.
“I mean, inside the locker room, I was a part of a team that was 5-7 one year, and then the next year we went to the National Championship. I mean it can happen quick, especially in this day and age of college football,” Morris said. “And the biggest thing, I mean, you just can’t put mental limits on yourself, I mean, it should be no surprise in our locker room, I mean, that’s the goal and everyone needs to know our goal inside of our building and just no surprises.”

Morris, a three-star recruit out of high school, committed to Oklahoma out of high school. As a true freshman in 2020, Morris completed 3-of-5 passes for 39 yards and rushed for two touchdowns in five games.
Morris transferred to TCU in 2021, preserving his redshirt by only playing for the Horned Frogs in four games. He started two games, going 1-1 and racked up 717 yards and three touchdowns through the air on 66.7% passing, he added one touchdown on the ground.
In 2022, Morris won the starting job over Sam Jackson and Max Duggan, leading the Horned Frogs to a win in the season’s first game, 38-10 over Colorado. A knee sprain knocked him out of the game, thrusting Duggan into the starting role — the rest is history. Morris finished the season with 145 yards and one touchdown pass.
In 2023, Morris was once again named TCU’s starter. He led them to a 3-3 record in six starts, throwing for 1,532 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions, adding three touchdowns on the ground. In December 2023, he entered the portal again, heading to North Texas.
