With the 2025 NFL Draft only two days away, every NFL team still holds its original first-round pick, the closest to the start of the draft that there have been no trades in the Common Draft Era, according to ESPN’s Evan Kaplan.
But as the big day approaches, rumblings of big trades in the works are coming, with the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, who hold the second and third picks, respectively, fielding calls about trading down, according to insiders.

Could 2025 NFL Draft See Multiple Round 1 Trades?
While the Tennessee Titans are not entertaining offers for the number one overall pick, almost assuredly taking Miami quarterback Cam Ward atop the draft, the Browns and Giants aren’t as set in their picks.
Insiders have been whispering for weeks about quarterback Shedeur Sanders slipping down the draft board. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who draft at No. 21, are now favored to take the Colorado phenom.
Teams are looking to trade upward to the top three picks with their eyes on Colorado’s two-way star Travis Hunter, Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter, and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, sources told ESPN’s Peter Schrager.
Trading texts this morning…I think we’re going to see the trade talks heat up soon! One person I talked to thinks there will be a lot of action in Round 1

With both the Browns and Giants fielding calls in the last 48 hours, ESPN draft insider Matt Miller thinks a lot of action will go down in round one.
“Trading texts this morning,” Miller wrote on social media. “I think we’re going to see the trade talks heat up soon! One person I talked to thinks there will be a lot of action in Round 1.”
Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles also seems to think big shake-ups might go down.
GM Poles on expectations for draft-day trading:
“I think this one’s going to be a little wild, but we’re going to be prepared for all the different scenarios that could pop up. … There’s going to be a lot more movement than there has been in the past.”
