Sanders’ Punch to Davidson Lead to Immediate Ejection

It all started during a heated exchange between Sanders and Davidson. Davidson had a pretty aggressive block that took place well after the play was whistled dead, where even the reports that had surfaced indicated the Bills’ tight end was pushing and shoving Sanders.

That angered the rookie safety, who retaliated by taking a swing and making contact with Davidson’s helmet. Sanders was flagged immediately for the punch by coaches and tossed from the game, thus beginning the series of events that would conclude the rookie’s time in Tampa Bay.

Sanders was vying for a spot on the roster as a third-string safety after being signed earlier this year as an undrafted free agent. His aggressive playing style from his college days at South Carolina, Jackson State, and Colorado came back to haunt him.
