Blue-Chip Battle Heats Up as Top Recruits Immanuel Iheanacho and Gordon Sellars Make Big Moves

The battle for the best talent in college football is moving toward its final moments. And two of the top blue-chip prospects in the 2026 class are at the center of it all. One is the wide receiver Gordon Sellars and the other is offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho. Both of them come with some interesting stats.

Sellars plays at Providence Day High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He went for 975 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns last season. Meanwhile, Iheanacho, a 6’6″, 350-pound lineman, plays for Georgetown Preparatory School in Maryland.

Throughout his games, he has been a nightmare for defenders. As the blue-chip battle continues, they have the biggest names lining up for them. So where are the two going?

Immanuel Iheanacho and Gordon Sellars Making Interesting Moves Before Final Decision

Sellars has become a go-to target on deep routes. In his junior season alone, he has averaged 18.5 yards per reception. And no doubt, scouts and analysts have been all praises about his ability to adjust mid-route and make contested catches. A trait that is worth quite a bit when it comes to college football fields.

As expected, all the top programs have taken notice. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Clemson have all extended offers, each hoping to secure Sellars’ commitment. However, his recruitment process is still ongoing. He has decided to take his time and make official visits. So where does he want to go?

“I am looking for a great football team, but also great academics because football has to end one day, so I want to be put in a situation where I can focus on both,” Sellars said in an interview with On3’s Chad Simmons in December.

A great outlook indeed, after visits, he is now down to six schools. Meanwhile, Iheanacho is moving quite differently.

Iheanacho is a force on the offensive line, and he knows it too. His ability to move defenders off the line and protect the quarterback has made him one of the most coveted offensive linemen.

Last season, Iheanacho allowed just one sack in 12 games. He comes with a combination of power and agility making him perfect for both pro-style and spread offenses.

And of course, colleges know that too. Names like Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, and Texas have all made him a top priority. In fact, many offensive line coaches have been regularly visiting Georgetown Prep. Iheanacho even had a recent visit to LSU.

“My relationship with LSU is strong,” Iheanacho said.

Now only one question about the two big names remains unanswered.

Where Will Immanuel Iheanacho and Gordon Sellars Land?

Sellars with his big-play ability, seems to be leaning toward programs that have good passing offenses, like Ohio State and Alabama. Iheanacho, on the other hand, could be a cornerstone for a power-running attack at Michigan or LSU.
