Titans’ First Overall Selection of Cam Ward Interrupted by Browns-Jaguars Picks Trade

What This Means for QB Cam Ward

For Cam Ward, it marks a new beginning in his already incredible journey. After receiving a single offer from Incarnate Word, he traveled to Washington State and then finished his career at Miami.

Having started in all 57 of his games, Ward finished with 18,189 yards and 158 passing touchdowns. Last season with the Hurricanes, he threw for 4,313 yards and had 39 touchdowns to only seven interceptions.

In his lone season with the Hurricanes, Ward won ACC Player of the Year honors and led them to a 10-3 record.

As a passer, he’s got the arm to make throws to all areas of the field and deliver the ball to his playmakers in stride, maximizing the yards gained. He averaged 319 yards per game and completed 65 percent of his passes in his career.

A proven leader on and off the field, Ward has shown the football IQ to quickly learn new schemes and develop relationships with his receivers in short order.

For a Titans team that is searching for its quarterback and selecting its third quarterback in four years, Ward brings much-needed stability and leadership to the position with the biggest spotlight.
