With the rise of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals, college football players now have the financial freedom to spend big. At the Shrine Bowl, several top athletes revealed their most extravagant NIL splurges—from luxury cars to designer fashion and even some unexpected purchases.

From Luxury Rides to Dream Vacations: Shrine Bowl Stars Reveal Their Biggest NIL Splurges
For many players, their first major NIL purchase was a high-end car. One standout player admitted to dropping a hefty sum on a brand-new Dodge Hellcat, while another flexed his love for sports cars with a sleek Tesla.
“I had to get the Hellcat—been dreaming about it since high school,” one player shared.
Others turned their newfound wealth toward upgrading their style. Whether it was designer sneakers, custom jewelry, or high-end streetwear, many Shrine Bowl athletes invested in their look.
“Gotta look the part when you’re walking into the stadium,” said one receiver rocking a diamond-studded chain.
Not all players went the flashy route. A handful revealed they used their NIL money to support their families, invest in real estate, or even start businesses. One offensive lineman shared that his biggest splurge was paying off his mom’s mortgage.
“She sacrificed so much for me, so it was only right,” he said.
