‘They Are Legit’ — CFB Analyst Drinking USC Football’s Kool-Aid

With the 2025 college football offseason underway, teams are finding what they need to make their programs successful. For one program, they want to continue turning things around and become one of college football’s best teams in 2025-26.

The USC Trojans are one of college football’s most storied programs. They are generating some serious buzz for the 2025 season, and analyst Josh Pate is taking notice. On a recent episode of “Josh Pate’s College Football Show,” Pate shared his observations on USC and his confidence in the program.

USC Football’s Swagger Feels Real to One CFB Analyst

On the show, Pate spoke about his observations from a behind-the-scenes visit to USC. He described the program with palpable confidence.

“They walk around as if they already ordered something and they know it’s arriving in the mail tomorrow,” Pate said, likening the Trojans’ demeanor to that of perennial powerhouses like the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Ohio State Buckeyes.”

According to Pate, USC’s swagger isn’t only for show. He believes that the Trojans are on the cusp of a breakthrough, predicting that they will be in the college football playoff picture this year and have an “expectation to win a championship.”

“I think they’re there. I have very little doubt about that,” he stated, suggesting that the team’s confidence is far from baseless. Confidence goes a long way when it comes to sports, and despite not being one of the college football powerhouses yet, they could easily turn that corner in 2025-26.

The Trojans have a rich history with eight Heisman Trophy winners and 14 Pro Football Hall of Famers. The talent is more than there; now it’s about getting back to their legacy. They seem to channel their championship legacy into a renewed sense of purpose.

Pate’s analysis also leaves some room for intrigue: “Either it’s all false bravado… or they’re on something and you’re just about to find out.” This may be all smoke and mirrors, but according to Pate, there is a powerful possibility we could see USC among the best of the best that college football has to offer.
