Ryan Wingo is sure that DeAndre Moore will be the next Texas Longhorns’ wide receiver set to be a first-round pick of the NFL Draft. Xavier Worthy was the last such Longhorn to get the distinction, having been picked by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 28th pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Today I asked him why he felt that way…

Speaking with the press on Thursday, Wingo shared his reasoning for why his fellow wide receiver could be a potential 2026 first-round pick:
“I think with DeMo, like I kind of said it during the spring, I didn’t get to watch him… But DeMo worked super hard… He ran all his routes full speed, everything full speed.with him like a full receiver… You gotta block, whatever you need from him… If you want a complete receiver, that’s the guy you want.” Said Wingo during a press conference on Thursday
Last season, Moore recorded 456 receiving yards, with seven touchdowns in 39 catches. He had an average of 11.7 yards per reception. All of those were career-high numbers for him, as he played with the team in 2023 for 10 games, but he didn’t get a single catch that year.

Texas’s DeAndre Moore on his goals for the 2025 season
Speaking on the same day with the press, DeAndre Moore shared his goals for the 2025 season. It seems that first and foremost, he’s interested in winning team accolades:
“First and foremost, I want to win a natty,” the confident Texas junior wide receiver from Anaheim, Calif., said this week. “I think we’ve got to the doorstep two years in a row. Two too many for my liking. So I want to win a national championship.”
“We fell short of an SEC championship last year,” he said. “I want to win the SEC championship.”
Bold goals indeed, but not far-fetched considering the Longhorns are currently, alongside Ohio State, the favorites to win the national title. In terms of personal goals? He wasn’t shy there either, as he told the press that he wanted to have a season of at least 1200 receiving yards and wanted to win the Biletnikoff Award.
