After losing the season opener against the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Texas Longhorns have started their second game of the season strongly against the San Jose State Spartans. Arch Manning started the game under center for Texas, while the Spartans had Walker Eget playing the duties of starting quarterback.
The Longhorns have raced to a 28-7 halftime lead after four successful touchdown drives, all carried out by Manning, who also threw one interception. The Spartans, meanwhile, reached the end zone only once in the second quarter. The Longhorns added 10 unanswered points in the third quarter.

Texas vs San Jose State Game Summary
1st Quarter
With 3:09 left in the opening quarter, Arch Manning connected with Parker Livingstone for an 83-yard touchdown to put Texas ahead 7–0. Just minutes later, Manning capped another drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Livingstone, giving the Longhorns a 14–0 lead.

2nd Quarter
In the second quarter, Manning found tight end Jack Endries for a 36-yard touchdown at the 14:53 mark. On Texas’ next scoring drive, Manning again hit Endries for a 16-yard score, making it 28–0.
Finally, San Jose State broke through as running back Jabari Bates rushed for a touchdown from 4 yards out.

3rd Quarter
Early in the third, kicker Mason Shipley completed a 47-yard field goal. Manning scored a 20-yard touchdown run in the final minute of the quarter, pushing the lead to 38–7.
