‘Cam Coleman to Texas’, that’s one of the main demands the Longhorns fans have made in recent weeks. Coleman had a standout freshman season in 2024 and has since become one of the top players in the country.
The demands to bring him in got louder when Texas wide receiver Parker Livingstone announced he’d be entering the transfer portal. As far as the fans are concerned, the Longhorns should do everything in their power to sign Coleman.
The Longhorns entered the season as a team with one of the best rosters and real championship potential. Their season got off to a rocky start, they had several ups and downs, and eventually missed the playoffs.
Texas needs more support. They’ve lost a few players to the transfer portal, but there’s enough talent available on the market right now that if they play their cards right, they can strengthen their roster like never before.
Cam Coleman
If there’s one player the Longhorns need, it’s Cam Coleman. During the Cheez-It Bowl against Michigan, when fans saw their WRs drop touchdown passes, they suggested “break the bank for Cam Coleman.”
Coleman can be the missing piece in their title quest. But signing him isn’t going to be easy. He has already visited the Longhorns as well as the Texas A&M Aggies. His next visit is slated for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Raleek Brown
The Texas Longhorns are still looking for their starting running back for the next season, and Raleek Brown fits that role perfectly. They’ve already missed out on Isaac Brown, who, at one point, was very close to signing with the Longhorns.
Raleek’s Texas visit was scheduled for Wednesday, and if the 247Sports report is to be believed, this time the Longhorns are going to lock the deal.
Makhi Frazier
Makhi Frazier is another running back who should be on the Texas Longhorns’ radar. The former Michigan State Spartans RB has the potential to be the difference maker and is currently looking for his next landing spot.
He had 520 yards on 116 carries in the last season with the Spartans. He can potentially thrive in Steve Sarkisian’s system, but they will have to move quickly before he gets signed elsewhere, as Hollywood Smothers did.
Malcolm Simmons
Malcom Simmons put together a 457-yard season on 25 receptions and has since entered the transfer portal. He joins two other Auburn receivers opting to move on after a disappointing 5–7 finish that included just one conference win.
With DeAndre Moore Jr. no longer in the mix, the Longhorns may look to add reinforcements at wide receiver. Simmons could offer a timely solution while continuing his career in the SEC.
Caden Durham
After two seasons with LSU, Durham decided to enter the transfer portal as the program undergoes a transition in Baton Rouge. A former four-star recruit from Duncanville High School, he now has a chance to return home and potentially join Texas.
Durham emerged as LSU’s top rusher as a freshman in 2024, earning Freshman All-SEC honors after posting 753 yards and six touchdowns. A move to Texas would allow Durham to remain in the SEC while stepping into Steve Sarkisian’s offense with an opportunity for a featured role.
