Can Texas A&M Football Get to 8 Wins? Texas A&M Alumni Break Down the 2025 Schedule

Will the Texas A&M Aggies be able to replicate what they did last year?

A year after the Texas A&M Aggies won eight games and were in the running for an appearance in the SEC Championship, the question will now be if the team can win eight games in 2025.

    Breakdown of Texas A&M’s Schedule

The folks at TexAgs Live recently discussed whether their school can replicate its win total from 2024. Former Aggies quarterback Stephen McGee joined the crew to give his opinion on the team’s potential 2025 record.

“It looks like the recipe for 7-5.”

Unfortunately for Aggie fans, this has been the norm for a while down in College Station.

Since the 1998 season, the program has won 10+ games just one time (2012 under Kevin Sumlin). While Jimbo Fisher was able to win nine games multiple times, he was never really able to put this team in the national title conversation.

But late last season, head coach Mike Elko was able to guide this team to a position where, had they beaten the Texas Longhorns, they would have had a great chance to make it to Atlanta for the SEC Championship.

If they had won that, they would have made it to the College Football Playoff.

On the 2025 schedule, the Aggies will host UTSA, Utah State, Auburn, Mississippi State, Florida, South Carolina, and Samford. They will also have to travel to face Notre Dame, Arkansas, LSU, Missouri, and Texas.

By the looks of it, McGee could be right. The SEC is already perhaps the best conference in college football, and facing the likes of Notre Dame, LSU, and Texas on the road could be a scary proposition.

Since joining the SEC in 2012, the Aggies have been a middle-of-the-pack program. To say they are going to win 11 or 12 games after winning eight the year before is a bit of a stretch.

However, Elko knows the program and understands what the fan base needs to see from him and the team. If this team found a way to win eight games or more in 2025, it would be a huge year, regardless of the fact that they won eight last year.
