Tetairoa McMillan’s Viral Video Highlights NFL Draft Potential

This latest clip, shared by Dov Kleiman on X, sparked discussions among fans and analysts about his incredible potential in the NFL.

The Las Vegas Raiders, holding the sixth overall pick, could shift their focus to McMillan if the top two quarterbacks are unavailable.

McMillan had a standout three-year career at Arizona, recording 213 receptions for 3,423 yards and 26 touchdowns. Last season alone, he led the Big 12 in receiving yards with 1,319 and added eight touchdowns.

A significant part of his production came after the catch, as he ranked fifth among Big 12 receivers in YAC (430) and tied for third nationally in missed tackles forced (29), according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).

His combination of size and skill makes him an intriguing option for teams needing a dominant receiver.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and 212 pounds, McMillan is a rare blend of size, speed, and hands. His ability to win contested catches further sets him apart, as he ranked tied for fifth among FBS receivers with 18 contested receptions last season, per PFF. He hauled in 60 percent of his contested targets, outperforming any other Big 12 receiver in this area.

Beyond the raw numbers, McMillan can track the ball and position himself for big plays. He is a “hands-catcher,” securing the ball cleanly rather than letting it come into his body.

His high-pointing ability allows him to reach passes that most defensive backs cannot contest, giving quarterbacks confidence to target him in tight coverage.

His skill set also extends to route running, where he uses subtle movements to create separation. While he may not have elite burst out of breaks, he manipulates defenders with shoulder fakes, pushes cornerbacks vertically, and finds soft spots in zone coverage.

McMillan also effectively works back to the ball, particularly on curl routes. Instead of waiting for the pass, he consistently moves toward the quarterback, maximizing separation and reducing the chances of defenders breaking up the play.

McMillan’s Fit on the Raiders and NFL Future

If McMillan lands with the Raiders, he could form a formidable duo with Davante Adams or be his eventual replacement. Las Vegas needs a reliable receiving option, and McMillan’s skill set aligns with what the team could use to strengthen its offense.

While some players have benefited financially from staying in college due to NIL deals, McMillan’s draft stock makes it unlikely he would return. His potential earnings as an early first-round pick significantly outweigh any NIL opportunities, making the NFL the logical next step.

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, McMillan’s name will remain in the conversation for top wide receiver prospects. His mix of size, hands, and ability after the catch makes him one of this class’s most intriguing offensive players.

Whether the Raiders or another team secures his services, McMillan appears poised to make an impact in the NFL.
