The Colorado Buffaloes will need a new starting quarterback next season, as star signal-caller Shedeur Sanders will soon be heading to the NFL.
By the looks of things, transfer QB Kaidon Salter could be that guy.
Kaidon Salter Can Zip It
While recently messing around with the jugs machine and playing catch at the Colorado practice facility, Buffaloes wide receiver Terrell Timmons had high praise for the incoming star transfer.

If this little interaction is any indication, the Buffaloes could be a team to watch out for in 2025, even with Sanders and Heisman-winning wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter moving on to the next level.
Salter put up quality numbers during his four years with the Liberty Flames. He was not able to uncork the ball as much last season, seeing as he only threw for over 250 yards once, but he only threw six interceptions. His best year at Liberty came in 2023 when he threw for 2,876 yards, 32 touchdowns, and just six interceptions.
Now, after seeing what Sanders was able to do in Coach Prime’s offense, Salter could be looking to take the reigns in 2025.
Colorado’s 2025 Season Outlook
As previously mentioned, the Buffaloes, led by head coach Deion Sanders, will have to find a way to replace Sanders and Hunter’s production on both sides of the ball.
Mainly because of what they did on the field, Colorado was able to bounce back from winning four games in 2023 to winning nine this past season.

In an intriguing conference with the likes of BYU, Arizona State, and Iowa State all having very solid seasons this past year, Sanders and Co. cannot afford to have many slip-ups as the season moves along.
If Salter ends up being named the starting QB, he is going to have to play the way that he played at Liberty, especially during the 2023 season. That means being able to sling the ball around the yard without giving it to the other team in key moments.
