American tennis sensation Ben Shelton has been dating NWSL star Trinity Rodman since the early part of this year. The duo has confirmed their relationship by posting regularly on social media and have been together at several public events.
Recently, Shelton joined DC Young Fly, where she discussed several topics, including her relationship with the USWNT star. DC Young Fly brought Rodman into the conversation when the duo started talking about how girls are more attracted to tennis than any other sport.
As soon as DC Young Fly calls Shelton Rodman’s “beautiful spouse,” the American star turned red as he placed his hand around his eyes. Shelton then shared his appreciation for Rodman and even said that while she is the mainstream star, he is just learning from her.
“Yeah, it’s, uh, I’m just learning from her,” Shelton said (7:29). “She’s the big-time star, for real, the mainstream U.S. star, and I’m kind of just low-key. I do what she needs. It’s been great supporting each other, for real.
Shelton shed light on the difficult personal lives of professional athletes, calling them entertainers for a common audience:
“There’s a lot of, you know, media requirements, physical requirements, the day-to-day is very tough being a professional athlete. I mean, being the best at whatever you do, whether you’re the funniest person in the world or the best athlete in the world, you’ve got to work. And at the end of the day, you’re an entertainer, and they want you to be entertaining. They want your time.”
