The United Cup 2026 will enter the quarterfinal stage on Day 6 (Wednesday, January 7) of the tournament. Defending champions USA, along with Greece, Switzerland, and Argentina will contest the first pair of quarterfinals.
Australia, Belgium, and the Czech Republic have also made the last eight, and will contest their The remaining spot will go to Poland or Germany, though the odds are skewed heavily in Poland’s favor.
Aside from the two quarterfinals, the remaining group tie between Poland and the Netherlands will also be contested on Wednesday. On that note, here are the predictions for all the matches set to take place on Day 6 of the United Cup:

#1. Coco Gauff vs Maria Sakkari
Coco Gauff commenced her campaign with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 against Solana Sierra. However, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro stunned her with a 6-1, 6-7 (3), 6-0 win. Maria Sakkari, on the other hand, has remained unbeaten so far. She beat Naomi Osaka 6-4, 6-2, and fought past Emma Raducanu 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
This will be the 11th career meeting between them. Their rivalry is currently deadlocked at 5-5. Gauff has won their last two matches, and four of their last five matches. Their most recent meeting took place at the Miami Open 2025, which the American won 6-2, 6-4.
Gauff will be keen to bounce back after her disappointing loss to Bouzas Maneiro. While Sakkari has played at a high level so far, she has her biggest test lined up next. She went 1-8 against top 10 players in 2025, thus making her the underdog in this contest despite her performances at the United Cup.

#2. Taylor Fritz vs Stefanos Tsitsipas
Taylor Fritz lost to Sebastian Baez in three sets in his first match of the tournament. However, he bounced back with a hard-fought 7-6 (4), 3-6, 7-6 (6) win over Jaume Munar. His biggest concern would still be the nagging injury that he’s carrying for a while.
Tsitsipas kicked off his campaign with a routine win over Shintaro Mochizuki, and then staged a comeback to beat Billy Harris 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (4). He enjoys a narrow 3-2 advantage over Fritz in their head-to-head.
Tsitsipas won their first three matches, and Fritz has since turned the tables by wining their last two contests. The American could continue his winning streak, though it all comes down to how he’s feeling physically.
