Sometimes fan reactions can go way off, and that’s what happened with Naomi Osaka on Sunday. The tennis star is currently representing Japan at the United Cup.
During a Q&A session with her followers on Instagram, one fan left the four-time Grand Slam champion visibly stunned. The fan asked whether she was “happy with [her] really high Wikifeet rating,” a reference to a website known for fetishizing feet.
Osaka posted a close-up selfie and added a blunt reaction:
“Excuse me???”

There were other questions as well in the Q&A session but this one stood out for all the wrong reasons. In another question, a fan mentioned that he is traveling to Melbourne for the third time to watch Osaka, who replied:
“Thank You! Hope you have a fun time!”
She also shared that she likes to watch classic Japanese cartoons.

Naomi Osaka Begins 2026 With a Strong Win
After a far better 2025 season since becoming a mother, Naomi Osaka looks forward to an even better 2026 season.
Representing Japan at the United Cup, Osaka earned her first career match victory in the event. She defeated Great Britain’s Katie Swan 7-6 (4), 6-1 after Emma Raducanu withdrew from their scheduled match due to a foot injury. This marked Japan’s first United Cup win in history. However, Japan lost the overall tie 2-1 to Great Britain since the British mixed doubles team clinched the deciding match. This means Japan and Osaka’s time at the United Cup has come to an end.
Earlier, she suffered a straight-sets loss to Maria Sakkari. After the loss, Osaka said she is battling health issues that have affected her level on court.
“I have been dealing with some health stuff, so I’m kind of just happy to be out here right now,” Osaka said.
“It’s not serious, but I’m not operating at the [performance level] that I want to be operating at, which kind of sucks because I had a really good off-season, so I thought I was going to do really well here. But then I got really sick, so I think I’m at the tail end of that, but still not amazing. I’m just trying to get better every day. I had a cough, a runny nose, like all that nasty stuff. Hopefully it goes away before the Australian Open.”
Osaka’s medical team and physical trainer will closely monitor the situation as she looks set to participate in the Australian Open.
