Carlos Alcaraz has once again got his hair cut. This time, it’s ahead of the 2026 Australian Open, with the World No. 1 Spaniard currently in Seoul for the Hyundai Card Super Match exhibition against World No. 2 rival Jannik Sinner.
Over the years, Alcaraz has made it a habit of sorts to get his hair cut in the buildup to big tournaments. His hair became quite the topic of discussion at last year’s US Open, where he sported an extreme buzz cut. More recently, soon after landing in Seoul for his exhibition match against Sinner, the Spaniard interacted with fans at the airport wearing a cap, and it was quite evident that he’d got a haircut again.
From what little could be seen of his new haircut, it appears that he’s gone back to the kind of buzz cut he sported at Flushing Meadows last year.

The exhibition is set to take place on Saturday, January 9, at Seoul’s INSPIRE Arena. After the conclusion of the exhibition, both Alcaraz and Sinner will fly to Melbourne to begin their preparations for this year’s Australian Open. For the Spaniard, the Melbourne Major will be a tough test. Not only is it the only Grand Slam title he is yet to win, but he is also going into the tournament this time around without Juan Carlos Ferrero in his camp.
Carlos Alcaraz Made Australian Open Intentions Clear At End of 2025; Shocking Juan Carlos Ferrero Split Followed
During an interaction with Spanish media in December 2025, Carlos Alcaraz minced no words as he laid bare his desire to win the Australian Open men’s singles title in 2026, which would help him complete the Career Grand Slam. The 22-year-old said:
“This week I start the preseason, I am excited to work well and prepare physically and mentally as best as possible for the start of the year. My clear goal for 2026 is to win the Australian Open. The good and the bad thing is that it is the first tournament of the year. I want to be ready to perform at a high level.”
Just days later though, Juan Carlos Ferrero, who had been his coach since 2019, left his camp. The development sent shockwaves through the tennis world, particularly because the 2025 season was the best in terms of achievements that Alcaraz enjoyed under Ferrero’s tutelage. For the time being, Samuel Lopez is serving as the Spaniard’s head coach.
