Billionaire Heiress Emma Navarro Sends Bold Message About Favoritism Claims Tied to Dad Ben

American tennis star Emma Navarro is the daughter of Ben Navarro, the CEO of Sherman Financial Group, who has a net worth of $3.2 billion, according to Forbes. Despite handling a multi-billion-dollar business, Ben often makes time to cheer Emma from the stands.

The tennis star often gets asked about her dad. During a recent interview with NZ Herald, Navarro talks about the success her father has seen as a major investor but also the downside that comes with being the daughter of a multi-billionaire.

“He’s doing amazing things in so many different areas, and he’s so generous and careful with his time and money,” Emma said. “He’s a great role model for me as a daughter and for so many people who are striving for success. I don’t like being labeled because of that. I didn’t get everything handed to me growing up.”

Emma Navarro has previously also expressed discomfort with being labeled as someone who was handed to her by her rich father.

“I don’t love being referred to as whoever with however much money’s daughter. It’s a label I don’t really like,” Emma said. “I didn’t grow up being handed things. We grew up in a sort of traditional way. We’d get up at 6 a.m. on a Saturday morning and go play tennis. Growing up it was a priority that we learnt toughness and we learnt work ethic.”

Emma Navarro Inspired By Her Father Ben Navarro’s Mindset

Emma Navarro’s parents, Ben and Kelly Navarro, have always supported her tennis career. She believes that she’s “exactly where I need to be,” a mindset inspired by her father, as she told Tennis Channel in 2024:

“I gotta give a lot of credit to my dad. He’s probably the smartest guy I know and has dropped a lot of knowledge and wisdom on my siblings and I over the years. He’s taught me a bunch about the perspective I need to take.”

Emma has also previously noted that her father’s favorite motto is to “never give up” and she has lived by those words. At the 2019 Charleston Open, Ben shared his pride in being a father to Emma:

“I’d be lying if I didn’t say I lost a couple nights sleep going up into the tournament because it’s the first time she had a chance to play on a stage like that, and you just don’t know. I know if I had to do it I probably wouldn’t have been able to swing the racket. If you make me talk about it too much, I’ll start crying right here on the set.”

Emma Navarro’s father, Ben Navarro, graduated from Rhode Island in finance and worked at big firms, including Chemical Bank, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup, before starting his own company in 1998. His investment group, Beemok Capital (or Beemok Sports LLC), has taken over major tennis tournaments, including the Credit One Charleston Open and the Western & Southern Open (Cincinnati Open).
