Andre Agassi’s Bold Steffi Graf Move From Years Ago Still Leaves Him in Awe

Andre Agassi was known for his fashionable looks back in the day. On Thursday, he chose to pull back some of his old looks and share his current views with his followers on Instagram.

The first photo Agassi pulled up was a sleeveless white t-shirt with the American flag printed on the chest. His getup was in collaboration with Nike, and that time is often referred to as “Neon Era.” At that time, Agassi often paired such streetwear-inspired tops with loud bandanas and geometric prints.

“American flag on a sleeveless,” Agassi said. “I must have thought I had some guns. Yeah, I definitely wore sleeveless. I’m guilty as charged. I was probably in an environment where that was not advisable, so I did it for that very reason.”

The next photo Agassi pulled up was with his current wife, Steffi Graf, from the 1992 Wimbledon Winners Ball. Agassi was in a tuxedo alongside stunning Graf at the Savoy Hotel in London. They had both won Wimbledon that year. Agassi revealed that seven from then it was the closest he ever was to Graf.

“Aw, that was 1992. If you were a male and you won Wimbledon, there’s a good chance you’re going to be standing next to that princess right there, because she seems to win it every year. That was as close as I ever got to Steffi for about seven more years.”

Next up, Agassi posted a photo in a denim shirt and khaki shorts, dating back to the early ’90s. Agassi hilariously called the look “upsetting.”

Agassi summed up the entire video, describing that his look with his wife was the only look he did well.

“Steffi was the only good choice in that video,” Agassi captioned.

Andre Agassi Reveals Story Behind Getting Tuxedo Before 1992 Wimbledon Finals

Andre Agassi’s tuxedo photo from the above video had a backstory as well. Since it was Agassi’s first time playing the Wimbledon finals, he needed a tux to attend the winners’ ball the following day, a rule he finds “obnoxious.”

“I had to go buy that tux at Harrods in Wimbledon the night before the finals, at the possibility that I’d win, right? Because you had to wear a tux to this gala dinner thing, another sort of obnoxious rule,” Agassi said. “And it doesn’t even look like it fit me. But no, I remember buying that thing and feeling like Wimbledon should have bought it for me. I mean, after all, it’s their gala.”

To this date, Agassi believes the organizers should have arranged that piece of outfit for him instead of him fetching it the night before the finals.
