Tennessee Standout Boo Carter’s Mom Draws Fan Fury As Social Media Post ‘Burning Everything Orange’ Goes Viral

Boo Carter’s dismissal from the Tennessee Volunteers’ football program provoked an inflammatory response from his mother on social media. Carter’s mother responded to a fan’s declaration about not being a Tennessee Volunteers fan anymore to which she responded with a comment that read:

“I am burning everything orange. Not ever eating an orange again, change the damn background to black of ya status.”

The post immediately drew criticism from fans alike, with comments calling Carter’s Mom’s response disrespectful on X:

“The fact that her name is “momma boo” tells me that she is living vicariously through that kid at an unhealthy level,” stated a fan.

“I don’t get parents who think they are celebrities just because their kids are known,” said a fan.

“She’s acting out bc she has her SNAP benefits back,” remarked a fan.

“Good riddance am I right,” commented a fan referring to Boo Carter’s dismissal from the program.

“Now we know where he gets it from…,” remarked another fan.

“Another talented kid whos dumbass parent ruined his reputation and career,” stated another fan.

“I love how all of these parents are exposing why their kids lack accountability,” commented another fan.

ESPN confirmed on Sunday that Carter is no longer with the Volunteers as the situation reportedly reached its breaking point when Carter failed to appear at Neyland Stadium for Tennessee’s dominant 42-9 victory over New Mexico State on Saturday.

Boo Carter Claims Josh Heupel Wanted Him To Play Through Injury

According to ESPN’s sources, Carter had been informed by the coaching staff that he wouldn’t get playing time against the Aggies due to disciplinary concerns. However, the team expected him to still attend the game from the sidelines, which did not happen.

Carter has since broken his silence about the situation, giving his version of the story. In an interview with John Brice of FootballScoop, the former Tennessee player suggested that injuries played a significant role in the conflict, claiming head coach Josh Heupel pressured him to play through injury.

“I’ve been doing everything I could. I told him I was hurt. He wanted me to play hurt throughout the whole season,” Carter stated.

“I don’t know, how he’s putting it is making it sound like the stuff that happened in fall camp still,” he further elaborated.

Through eight games this season, Carter compiled 25 tackles, three forced fumbles, three passes defended and one sack whilst also averaging 13.2 yards on 11 punt returns.
