    Bold Italics signifies AAC game

Temple will head north to start the season against UMass, a program that’s been trying to find its footing for the better part of a decade.

A week later, the Owls’ home opener comes against FCS opponent Howard, and it’s the perfect opportunity for the team to show out in front of their fans. Expect a deep rotation of players to see action here, especially in the second half.

The Owls will have a tough SEC test early in September against Oklahoma. The Sooners, now fully entrenched in the SEC grind, are coming to Philadelphia, and you better believe Temple fans will pack Lincoln Financial Field for the showdown.

Back on the road, the Owls face a fellow rebuilding squad, Georgia Tech, on September 20. This matchup has swing-game potential. Temple’s defense, led by DE Layton Jordan and a hungry linebacker corps, will be tested by Tech’s speed.

AAC play opens with a visit from UTSA, and it’s not an easy welcome. The Roadrunners are perennial contenders, and this will be one of Temple’s biggest tests of the season in conference.

Temple stays home to host Navy and their famously frustrating triple-option offense. This one’s all about patience and discipline. Temple’s front seven will need to maintain gap control and avoid falling for Navy’s constant misdirection.

A tricky late October road trip to Tulsa could make or break the Owls’ season momentum. The Golden Hurricane has the size and speed to match up well, and it’s a team Temple hasn’t always fared well against. The key here will be establishing the run game early and controlling the tempo—if the Owls get behind, it could be a long night in Oklahoma.

The East Carolina Pirates roll into Philadelphia to start the final stretch of the season, and Temple will want to strike quickly in what could be a very winnable matchup. ECU’s defense has been leaky in recent years, and this could be a big day for the Owls’ passing game.

Then, two tough AAC games to end the season. This stretch begins on November 22 against Tulane. The Green Wave plays fast, smart, and physical, and if the Owls want to keep up, they’ll need a near-flawless performance.

Closing the season deep in Denton, Texas, Temple could be fighting for bowl eligibility here. North Texas loves to air it out, which could spell trouble if the Owls’ secondary is banged up.

But if Temple can control possession and dominate time of possession, they’ll be in business. This finale could decide whether the 2025 season ends with a bang—or a bag of “what-ifs.”
