Once again, the University of Florida is recruiting someone from the Spurrier family, and this time, it’s Steve Spurrier Jr.
Spurrier Jr. is joining the Florida coaching staff as an analyst alongside head coach Billy Napier, according to the report of On3’s Zach Abolverdi.
Spurrier Jr. is known for his experience as an associate head coach, offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach, with the recent addition of working for Tulsa. Moreover, he is renowned as the son of an all-time great player and legend, Steve Spurrier.

Spurrier Jr. started his journey as a coach at Florida in 1994 and worked under his father’s guidance as a graduate assistant.
Furthermore, he tried his hand at many jobs at Florida, such as a video assistant and special teams coach.

The 53-year-old coach returning to Florida is not just another news story but a special moment in his life and career. His family is known to have a long and prosperous history tagging along with it.
As aforementioned, the father of Spurrier Jr. is one of the most celebrated coaches in Florida’s history, leading the team to a national championship in 1996.
His father’s leadership was so impactful that his name was inscribed to the football field, named as Steve Spurrier-Florida Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
