Arch Manning is one of the most famous QBs in the country, even though he hasn’t played that much meaningful football. Being born into a legendary football family like the Mannings makes your expectations go through the roof, and some critics have gone as far as to say Arch hasn’t earned anything.
Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian put those doubters to rest by setting the record straight about the young quarterback’s work ethic on the “Up and Adams Show.”

When asked about Manning, Sark told host Kay Adams, “Nobody works harder. Not on in the weight room, not on the field, not in the classroom, not studying.”

Sark’s comments ring true when you look at Manning’s career thus far. Although he was born into football royalty, Manning first made a name for himself in high school, where he broke his uncle Peyton’s passing touchdown record and his uncle Eli’s passing yard record at Isidore Newman High School.
Through his success in high school, Arch became a consensus five-star recruit and was ranked as the top player and quarterback in the class of 2023 across most recruiting sites.
In the same interview, Sark also commended Manning’s humbleness and approach during the recruiting process, saying, “With Arch, it was so normal, great family, great home life.”
Sark went on to say that when Manning first got to campus, he was determined to earn his role without relying on his name to give him opportunities: “When he got here, if you didn’t know who he was, you’d think he was just another freshman trying to earn his way.”
In his limited playing time during his redshirt freshman season, Manning threw for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and only two interceptions.

He also showed off his athleticism by rushing for 108 yards and four TDs on the ground.
While expectations are very high for Manning, Sark’s comments suggest that Arch is certainly putting in the work to be great.
