The Texas Longhorns will have a different QB next season. Quinn Ewers is headed to the 2025 NFL draft, and as a result, after two seasons as a backup, Arch Manning is projected to take the starting job.
Steve Sarkisian appeared on “Up & Adams” on Thursday, Feb. 20, to speak about what makes Manning special and confirmed that he will be the starter in the 2025 college football season.

Sarkisian said, “Well, it’d be pretty tough for me to say he’s probably not going to be our starting QB. He started for us a couple games last year, played really good football. Our first game in the SEC against Mississippi State, he was our starting QB. You know Quinn had been knicked up. I think the exposure that he’s had, I think he’s ready for it. We got a pretty good team, we got a lot of work to do, but we’re in February.
“We have a long way to go until the fall rolls around, but we’re in a good spot to I think have a pretty good football team, and it’s gonna be even better knowing he’s gonna be the guy for us. He’s gotta earn it, but I feel pretty good about it.”
Adams then asked why she should be a Longhorns fan.
“First of all, you get to come to Austin,” Sarkisian replied. “Second, we got a really good football team. We’re exciting, we got a great brand of football, DKR’s rocking. We got Arch Manning.”
“Are you declaring the starter,” Adams exclaimed.
“Sure, we’ll give you that, Kay, we’ll give you that,” Sarkisian responded.

Manning has a lot of pressure on his shoulders. As the nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning, there are huge expectations for him to live up to. However, early in his college football career, he has not let the pressure get to him.
Although Manning has not played a full season as a starter, he has performed well when he was needed by the Longhorns. Now he will have the opportunity to show that he can be a full-time starter.
