The future of Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning remains one of college football’s biggest question marks heading into the offseason.
While it’s highly likely that Manning will return to the Longhorns for another season, there have been significant talks around his potential future in the NFL.
Speaking about Arch Manning’s next career step, Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian feels relatively good about Manning returning to Texas for another season.
Upon being asked about Arch Manning’s definitive return, the Longhorns’ head coach let out a chuckle whilst saying that he hasn’t spoken to Manning about the same; however, he highlighted that he feels confident about the quarterback’s return to the Texas-based program.
“I haven’t asked him (laughs). I feel pretty good about it,” Sarkisian stated.
This comment comes on the backdrop of Texas’ statement victory over their arch-rivals, the No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies, winning 27-17 to improve their record to 9-3.
A lot of people who wrote off Arch Manning after that shaky start to the season have been awfully quiet lately.

While the Longhorns await their playoff qualification status, Manning’s college football future continues to remain in the balance.

Manning Re-Enters 2026 Draft Conversation Alongside Mendoza, Sellers
The Longhorns’ and Manning’s journey this season has been anything but straightforward. After spending two years as Quinn Ewers’ backup, he finally got his chance to lead the Longhorns. After a rocky start through the first three games, Manning threw for just 579 yards with six touchdowns against three interceptions, completing 55 percent of his passes.
By season’s end, Manning had compiled 2,942 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. He also added eight rushing scores and improved his completion percentage to 61.4 percent, helping the Longhorns win six of their last seven games to give them a strong 9-3 finish to their regular season.

At the start of the season, Manning was touted to be the first draft pick of 2026. However, a slight dip in performances coupled with an impressive performance in the second half of the season has opened up talks about Manning’s potential 2026 NFL Draft prospects, but with a slightly lower chance of being a no. 1 pick, as players like Fernando Mendoza and LaNorris Sellers are touted to be higher picks if they enter the 2026 Draft.
