Lane Kiffin is among the hottest names in the football world right now, as SEC giants like LSU and Florida are actively pursuing the Ole Miss head coach to replace their fired coaches.
Both Florida and LSU hosted the Kiffin family recently, fueling the rumors of his Ole Miss exit while the Rebel community has already started to lose patience as Kiffin still hasn’t put an end to the rumors.
Even the Mississippi commissioner recently took to X to express his frustration over Kiffin not putting a stop on the rumors.
Talking about Kiffin’s potential move to Florida or LSU, Stephen A. Smith said on ESPN’s ‘First Take’ (via USA Today):
“I don’t have that type of confidence. But that man, Lane Kiffin at LSU, that man, Lane Kiffin at Florida, oh that’s a different beast right there. Lane Kiffin knows what he’s talking about. The man has done his job, go out there, try and win a national championship, and then get your a** to Baton Rouge or get your a** to Gainesville, Florida. Stop playing games. He ain’t staying at Ole Miss. Get over it.
“Be happy you had him all of these years and be prepared to wave bye bye. That man will be gone to either Gainesville or Death Valley come January. You can book it because he ain’t stupid. He knows, everybody knows,” he added.

Paul Finebaum Sends Advice To Lane Kiffin Amid Uncertain Ole Miss Future
In the same conversation with Stephen A. Smith, Paul Finebaum shared that he doesn’t believe Kiffin wants to stay at Ole Miss as he is not brushing off the rumors.
He also believes that Kiffin must have gotten an ultimatum from Ole Miss which is why he attacked the question during the recent press conference. He said:
“But think about this for a second, his family got a plane Sunday and then took that plane from Gainesville to Baton Rouge, and what are they doing? They’re looking around. His son is a top prospect, they wanted to look at high schools, which is perfectly alright, but this is all going on when Ole Miss is having its best season in about 60 years, hasn’t won a SEC championship since John Kennedy was president. And Lane is raging about all this stuff going on. Lane, it’s up to you. If you want to end the speculation, end it right now. But you haven’t ended it. All you have done is exacerbate it.”
Ole Miss is currently sitting at an overall record of 10-1 and are among the top college football playoffs candidates.
